Fascination - not only to me: objects reflecting the search for hidden treasure and the wish to open a closed container. All three of them were sold before I was able to take photos. Thus I had to lend them back for this purpose or ask the owners to take some pictures for me. Currently, those boxes are of equal importance to me as are the spirals. For the time being there were only three such done, two of them completely closed, and the 'piano box', which is open on the top.

Nearly all those abstract

geometric objects

(2010 - 2012)

Nearly all those abstract "constructed forms" were fired using the Raku technique. The indeterminant craquelure caused by this technique lessens the rigidity of the geometric form, thus enhancing its vividness.

These forms are no longer rigid and straight. The lines curve slightly but smooth. The edges are still completed accurately but there is no stiffness to the object. The forms have a more direct assemblance to natural forms. This is Simon Hof´s most recent work.
